How to you keep a nude lipstick from becoming streaky/cakey?

I recently bought Creme D'nude from Mac and it goes on very cakey/streaky. I've tried the method of dabbing it on but it still does not look good. This also happened when I tried on Myth. I have medium pigmented lips.

Thanks in advance. How to you keep a nude lipstick from becoming streaky/cakey?
you should always wear a lip liner underneath your lipstick so it doesn't feather, smudge or streak. I've never worn mac lipstick, so i'm not sure about the cakey part. The lip liner can be either a nude color or the same as your lipstick. How to you keep a nude lipstick from becoming streaky/cakey?
wear a lip liner that is the same/similar color as your lipstick under your lipstick to stop feathering, streaking, creasing, cracking, etc.

also apply with a lip brush to get in every nook and cranny.

and definitely moisturize you lips before putting anything on it.
